How this paver calculator works
Patio area is divided by the effective face area of one paver including the joint gap. A waste percentage is added for cuts, breakage and pattern fit.

What to do with the number
Use the individual paver count for layout and the package count for purchasing. Herringbone, curves and borders usually create more waste than a straight running bond.
