How this flooring calculator works
Room area is length × width. The waste allowance is added before dividing by square feet per box; box count is always rounded up.
How to use it
- Room length. Enter the value in ft.
- Room width. Enter the value in ft.
- Waste allowance. Enter the value in %.
- Coverage per box. Enter the value in sq ft.
- Request the result. Add your email, then select “Email & show my result.”
What to do with the number
The square-foot result helps compare products while the box count tells you the minimum whole packages to purchase. Straight layouts often use 5–10% waste. Diagonal patterns, irregular rooms and material with strong visual matching can need more.
Use this result as a starting point, not a guarantee. Product specifications, site conditions, manufacturer guidance, local codes, taxes, labor, tolerances, and rounding can change the real requirement or cost.
