How this fence post calculator works
The run is divided into spans no longer than your spacing limit. One post is added to close the run, then any additional corner, gate or special posts are included.
How to use it
- Fence run length. Enter the value in ft.
- Maximum post spacing. Enter the value in ft.
- Extra corner/gate/end posts. Enter the value that applies to your situation.
- Request the result. Add your email, then select “Email & show my result.”
What to do with the number
Real layouts should be broken into separate straight runs; a single total can undercount corners. Calculate each fence side separately when the layout turns corners, then combine the results and remove duplicated corner posts.
Use this result as a starting point, not a guarantee. Product specifications, site conditions, manufacturer guidance, local codes, taxes, labor, tolerances, and rounding can change the real requirement or cost.
