How this baseboard trim calculator works
Room perimeter is reduced by openings that will not receive trim. Waste is added, then total linear feet are divided by the stock-piece length.
How to use it
- Room length. Enter the value in ft.
- Room width. Enter the value in ft.
- Door/opening width to subtract. Enter the value in ft.
- Stock piece length. Enter the value in ft.
- Waste allowance. Enter the value in %.

What to do with the number
The piece count is rounded up and does not optimize every cut, so complex rooms can use more stock. Longer stock can reduce seams but may be harder to transport; compare 8-, 12- and 16-foot options when available.
