How this ev charging time calculator works
Required battery energy is capacity × the state-of-charge change. That energy is divided by charger power and charging efficiency to estimate hours.

What to do with the number
DC fast charging typically tapers at high state of charge, so a constant-power estimate can be optimistic above roughly 80%. For home Level 2 charging, the vehicle’s onboard charger can cap power below the EVSE rating; use the lower effective power.
